Talking business in magical surroundings: The European Festival Conference (EFC) returns for a third edition of panel discussions, keynote interviews, presentations and workshops, specifically tailored to the festival business. This year’s edition takes place Nov. 20-23 at the beautiful Mas Salagros EcoResort in Vallromanes, 25 kilometers outside of Barcelona in Catalunya, Spain.
Organized by Europe’s festival association Yourope, the sessions have been developed in close collaboration with Yourope supported action groups and initiatves, including GO Group (Green operations Europe), the European Marketing and Communications Group (EMAC), Take A Stand and the Yourope Event Safety Group (YES Group).
We’re happy to contribte to a magnificant program that deals with festivals from all angles! One of our sessions is dubbed “REVOLUTION! NOW! GRETA, PLASTICS & THE GREEN MOMENTUM”.
In the beginning of this year the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favour to cut plastic waste, targeting in particular single-use plastic litter polluting Europe’s beaches and seas. At the same time Greta Thunberg rose on the wave she caused with #FridaysForFuture to be the true voice on climate change the world is listening to. There’s definitely a green momentum and the climate challenge was a hot topic during this festival summer as well. But what happens now? If we are really inspired, what are the next consequent steps we have to take? The uncomfortable ones?
We will talk about this with one of the most respected players in the sustainable event world and author of the industry’s “green bilble”, Meegan Jones (The Ocean Race/Sustainable Event Alliance). The panel will explore, what needs to happen next in order to follow up on promising ideas and initiatives, which are worthless without action taken.
And it is our big pleasure to close the conference with a creative group session: “THE EFC WORKSHOP – BUILDING THE FESTIVAL OF DREAMS”. Following the great experiences of our international GO Group workshops and the remarkable creative closing session of EFC 2017 we will again present a playful group workshop that requires your head, heart and hands. We are curating an interactive and fun experience to round it all up. Let’s build the festival of our dreams and tackle all the issues that we dealt with during the third edition of EFC. Be excited!
This workshop will be hosted by the co-founders of GO Group Jacob Sylvester Bilabel (Green Music Initiative) and Holger Jan Schmidt (Take A Stand). It is brought to you by #Omega1 with the kind support of Infinity Staging.
But the conference offers so much more. Sessions like (among others):
