Reading and examining thos was both – a big task because of the loads of information given and also a wonderful read through dozens of cool initiatives, projects and achievements.

It is a problem that short lists have to be short by definition, because again we had so many great festivals which couldn’t make it in the final six. Thanks a million to everybody who applied. Be proud of yourselves and what you achieved. We acknowledge that and please, don’t be sad if you don’t appear on the short list. It is great to see how many festivals focus on the green issues and work hard on being sustainable.

The festivals forming the short list are leaders in our scene towards a greener and more sustainable and responsible future. The jury praised all of them as worthy winners for the 2018 GREEN OPERATIONS AWARD.”

The 11th edition of the European Festival Awards take place on January 15th at De Oosterpoort during the opening night at ESNS in Groningen, The Netherlands. Get your tickets for the wonderful awards show here.
